I’ve been watching so many Fall Reads videos on Booktube lately that I decided to make my own list of books to read this fall! All of these are on my TBR for October (or November if I don’t finish them) but I cannot wait to dive into these worlds this month!
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
I started reading Six of Crows this past summer, but I stopped for some reason. I have heard so many good things about this book and the second/final book in the series that I need to just sit down and read it! Six of crows follows six characters who are all outcasts. They are going on what seems to be an impossible heist, which could end in riches or death. This one sounds full of adventure and I know people in the book community love the characters, I can’t wait to finish this one. Add to Goodreads.
Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows
To be completely honest, the only thing I know about this book is that it’s about dragons. I received this book in my September Owlcrate box, and I plan to read it with the book club group that Owlcrate hosts. Have you read this one yet? What did you think? Add to Goodreads.
Our Dark Duet By Victoria Schwab
I re-read This Savage Song last month and I fell in love with the characters and the story all over again. A girl who wants nothing more than to have the affection of her father is willing to do whatever it takes for his approval. Even if that means being a monster. August, a monster, struggles to find his place in Verity as he so desperately wants to be human but can he really change who he is? Ah. So. Good. I’m excited to read Our Dark Duet which is the second and final installment in this series. I love Victoria’s writing and I know this story will break my heart. But if you’re looking for something out of this world, the Monsters of Verity Duology is where I’d start. They’re dark and full of monsters, but who wouldn’t want to read that? Add to Goodreads.
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
THIS BOOK WILL DESTROY YOUR HEART! I read this book last year, and then just finished re-reading it this morning. Gah. I love this book so much. This is the story of how the queen of hearts came to be. I love the world of Wonderland. And you want so badly for things to go right for Cath in this one, but you also know the fate of the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland so even though you expect the ending, it will break your heart. Out of all of the books on this list, this is the one that I can honestly say that you have to read! (And it’s the only one I’ve actually read so far….) but really… What are you waiting for? Go buy it! And don’t forget to add it to Goodreads.
A Million Junes by Emily Henry
I loved The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry that I read last year. Someone on Bookstagram recommended putting A Million Junes on my October TBR. I got this book from Book of the Month a few months ago. I can’t even remember what it’s about (or if I even read the synopsis) But I knew I like Emily Henry’s writing and then someone recommended it for the fall, so here we are! Add to Goodreads.
Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
This one I also don’t know a whole lot about. But the second book just came out last month and everyone has been freaking out about it, so I figured it was time for me to read the first one and see if it was worth the hype. Add to Goodreads.
First We Were IV by Alexandra Sirowy
I heard a lot about this one a few months ago, and then one of my favorite Booktubers did a review on it, and I’m finally picking it up. Again, I don’t know much about this book other than it’s about a group of friends (a secret society of sorts) that can’t ever be torn apart… or so they think… It sounds interesting and it will nice to add more of a contemporary novel amid all of the fantasy that I plan on reading this month. Add to Goodreads.
I also have a few audiobooks that I hope to finish (Daring Greatly & A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue.) As well as a novel that the author sent me, Woven, that I’ll write a review about in the next few weeks! For some reason, I really want to read a lot of darker fantasy in preparation for Halloween. Let me know down below what you’re reading this month!
